Who is the C&G Part P Course for?
The C&G Part P course is perfect for new electricians, existing electricians or those simply wishing to undertake domestic electrical installation work and demonstrate that it complies with Part P of the Building Regulations.
The Part P course is essential for those looking to carry out electrical work in flats or houses as you must be competent to do this and have a good understanding and knowledge of the current regulations. If you do not follow Part P of the Building Regulations you risk being fined.

C&G Part P Course Overview
This qualification, officially known as the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (2393-10), provides you with comprehensive and accredited training for domestic electrical installers.
This Part P course will deliver an excellent understanding and working knowledge of the Building Regulations which have been in place since the 1st January, 2005. Part P of the Building Regulations is specific to electrical installations within domestic dwellings and covers the do’s and don’ts we must follow as domestic Installers when working in somebody’s home.
Completing the City & Guilds Part P electrical course, alongside our Electrical Course for Beginners, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Level 2 Inspection & Testing equips professionals with the practical and relevant knowledge needed for domestic electrical work.
Our C&G 2393-10 Domestic Electrical Installer Part P Course includes the following:
- Legislation
Health and Safety, The Building Regulations, Approved Document P, Notification to building control and non-notifiable minor work.
- Design
Design of circuits, selection of materials and installation.
- Mains Position
Location, Supply systems, Earthing and Bonding, Labelling and Installing of Residual Current Devices.

The exams
At the end of this City and Guilds 2393-10 Part P course you will have to take a multiple choice online exam which consists of 20 questions and you have up to 40 minutes to complete it. The good news is that you can take your course book in with you (Electricians Guide to the Building Regulations) as you are being tested not only on your knowledge but also your ability to reference the book to find the right answer.

This course has no entry requirements, however you will need to be 18 or over to attend this electrical training course.

When will I get my exam results?

Will I get a recognised qualification?

What book do I need for the Part P electrical course?
The book required is the Electrician’s Guide to Building Regulations, (ISBN 978-1-83953-254-2), which we can pre-order a copy of for you for £25.
Why do other Part P courses run over 5 days and cost considerably more?
We know that some of our competitors offer the City and Guilds 2393 course over 5 days costing you considerably more in both time and money. We currently have a 100% exam pass rate for this course so there is no need to spend any additional time or money on a 5-day course.
Where does the Part P course take place?
The course is class room based and takes place in the South East just outside Brighton.
What do the changes, from April 2013, mean to Part P of the Building Regulations?
When extending/altering any electrical circuits except in bathrooms, you will now not have to inform Building Control.
Can I sign off my own electrical work with just this qualification?
Not with this qualification only. The only way to sign off your own notifiable electrical work is to either notify your local building control or by joining a part p scheme provider such as the NICEIC.
