Who are OLEV & OZEV?

OLEV stands for the Office of Low Emission Vehicles. This is a part of the government that is there to support the market for ultra-low emission vehicles. OLEV is part of the Department for Transport and part of the department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.

At the end of 2020, OLEV was renamed OZEV (Office of Zero Emission Vehicles) in order to align with the government’s net zero ambitions, however, you may still see OLEV being used as the industry adjusts to these changes.

The OZEV grant scheme was renamed in 2021 to become the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme then in April 2022 the scheme was renamed again and is now known as the Electric Vehicle Charge Point Grant Scheme.
