Frequently Asked Questions
What qualifications do I need to be a fully qualified electrician?
There are various qualifications you can complete in order to become a qualified electrician, depending on which electrical sector you are interested in working in. Take a look at our guide explaining how to become an electrician and the different routes you can take to become qualified.
Are your courses fully accredited by industry bodies?
Yes, we are fully accredited by both City & Guilds and EAL.
How are your courses structured and taught?
Most of our courses are taught as a combination of in centre, practical training, alongside online learning that you can complete in your own time, at your own pace. The online learning is designed to consolidate and deepen your understanding of the key skills taught during your in centre training.
A handful of our courses are online only, as these are purely theoretical qualifications that can be accessed through distance learning.
Do your courses involve practical, hands-on training experience?
Apart from a handful of purely theoretical courses, the majority of our courses contain a significant amount of practical training. We truly believe that the best way to learn is to get hands on and put what you are learning into practice. We have purpose built workshops where you will spend a large proportion of your in centre training, learning and refining all the key skills. We even have a mock house so that you can put everything you have learnt into practice in a real life scenario!
How much do your courses cost, and what payment options do you offer?
All of our course prices can be found on the individual course pages. For our longer courses, we offer the option of putting down a deposit to reserve your space on the course and then the balance is due 21 days before your in centre training begins.
What does the assessment process involve, and what is the pass rate?
The assessment process varies depending on the course and the qualification. Most of our longer courses have a combination of online, multiple choice exams and practical assessments. Please refer to ‘The Exams’ section on our individual course pages for a more detailed breakdown of what is involved in each course.
As a centre we have an overall pass rate of 90%.
What training facilities and resources do you provide?
Our training facilities are made up of classrooms, purpose built practical workshops and even a mock house! Each customer will have their own work space within the workshops so you can get hands on as much as possible. Alongside the practical training you will also receive workbooks and online material to supplement your learning.
How long do the courses take to complete, and do you offer flexible options such as part-time or online?
The time taken to complete each of the courses varies depending on which course you are completing. More information on individual course length can be found on the course page, alongside the available dates for in centre training. The in centre training is complemented by an online course to help consolidate your learning.
We also offer a selection on online only courses, such as the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. The online courses can all be completed in your own time making it as flexible as possible for you.
